Fraternities and Sororities have continued the tradition of excellence on the Shepherd University campus since the 1930s, and have played an important role in the lives of our students and alumni since then. Through their active contributions over the years, in the Shepherdstown community, and through their involvement in other student organizations and educational programs, Fraternity & Sorority Life has been a community that fosters academic excellence, leadership development, and philanthropic services. The friendships and experiences gained as part of joining a fraternity of sorority will last a lifetime!
The Fraternity & Sorority Life community consists of two governing councils, which provide structure to the five Interfraternity Council chapters and the three National Panhellenic Council chapters. In order to join one of the fraternities or sororities on campus, you must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 on all high school course work or a GPA of 2.5 on all undergraduate course work for returning Shepherd University students and transfer students.
